Where do I find my personal token and API key?
Log into your Recut dashboard and navigate to Tools (https://app.recut.in/user/tools). Your secret API key and personal bookmarklet token are generated automatically upon account creation and can be rotated anytime.
How does the Quick Shortener prefix URL work?
By prepending 'https://app.recut.in/q/?u=' in front of any destination URL (e.g. https://app.recut.in/q/?u=https://example.com), Recut creates a new shortened link in your account and immediately redirects you to the destination. For security, you must be logged into Recut with 'Remember Me' enabled.
Why doesn't the bookmarklet popup show on certain HTTPS websites?
Certain websites enforce strict Content Security Policies (CSP) that prevent bookmarklet JavaScript widgets from injecting floating modals into their page. In those cases, Recut automatically opens a clean tab at app.recut.in so you can view and copy your generated short link safely.
Will the Full-Page script slow down my website load time?
No. The script is lightweight (<4 KB), executes asynchronously, and is delivered via our high-speed global CDN edge network. It runs only after your DOM has finished rendering, ensuring zero impact on your core web vitals and Google page speed scores.
Can I use my custom domain with the Full-Page Script?
Yes. You can define 'var domain = "https://mydomain.com";' in the script tag. The script will automatically shorten all targeted links using your custom branded domain instead of the default recut.in domain.
